Furry Land Franchise

Business Growth with Greg Longe

Franchise Success

In his 30-plus years of franchising, Greg Longe has helped brands such as Molly Maid and Mr. Handyman grow nationally. Now, he’s collecting emerging concepts under Phoenix Franchising Brands with an eye toward of recurring revenue for franchisees.

Greg Longe has been in franchising for over 30 years, and has now began collecting franchises under Phoenix Franchise Brands.

Longe, who early in his career spent more than 10 years at automotive detailing franchise Ziebart International, said that experience helped shape him as a business leader. As director of franchise development and vice president of global development, he helped bring the company from two products to 31 and nearly 1,000 locations across 40 countries. He counts former Ziebart CEO Thomas E. Wolfe as a mentor.

“I feel like I really grew up there,” Longe said. “I really learned a lot about developing businesses globally in just about any social, political and economic climate.”

Phoenix Franchise Brands, which he formed with his wife, Maria Longe (who serves as president), is his next endeavor. Its four brands—Fetch Pet Care, Furry Land, Spray Foam Genie and Door Renew—are all a little different, though each is in the service sector.

Acquired in March 2020, Fetch provides dog walking and pet sitting services through its 134 locations. Furry Land, added to the Phoenix lineup in April 2021 and with 35 locations, is a mobile pet grooming service.

Leadership With Greg Longe

All the franchises under Phoenix are only considered if they are affordable for franchisees. Longe is looking for the “sweet spot” in franchising, with an investment range of just under $100,000 to $650,000. That’s part of the reason why he looks for service models instead of brick-and-mortar stores. “You don’t have a whole lot of overhead in order to get involved,” he said.

Longe drew on his own experience in developing the criteria for Phoenix. Having gone through recessions and the pandemic, he’s seen it all. When he purchased Fetch, it was March 1, 2020.

“Little did we know what loomed just a few weeks later,” he said. “It was pretty surreal.”

Knowing that essential workers had pets, Longe wanted to make sure those pets could still be cared for and that Fetch’s own employees could get back to work. Getting the website built up for customer use was a priority.

“I think it gave our franchisees confidence knowing that their new parent was going to invest in the business,” said Longe

Mobile Pet Grooming Service

Regular dog grooming offers numerous health benefits for your furry companion. Beyond maintaining a sleek and tidy appearance, grooming plays a vital role in preventing skin issues such as matting and hot spots, which can lead to discomfort and infection. Brushing your dog’s coat removes dirt, dead hair, and distributes natural oils, promoting healthier skin and a shinier coat. Trimming nails regularly not only prevents painful overgrowth but also reduces the risk of joint issues and paw injuries. Cleaning ears and teeth during grooming sessions helps prevent infections and dental problems, safeguarding your dog’s overall well-being. Moreover, grooming sessions provide an opportunity to check for any abnormalities or parasites, allowing for early detection and treatment of potential health issues. Overall, regular grooming isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a crucial aspect of maintaining your dog’s health and happiness.

Mobile Cat Grooming

Regular grooming for your feline friend offers a myriad of health benefits that go beyond just keeping their fur sleek and clean. Brushing your cat’s coat removes loose fur, dirt, and debris, which can help prevent matting and reduce the risk of hairballs, a common issue in cats. Additionally, grooming stimulates the production of natural oils in the skin, promoting a healthy and shiny coat while also improving circulation. Trimming your cat’s nails regularly not only prevents them from becoming overgrown and causing discomfort but also reduces the likelihood of scratches and injuries, both for your cat and for you. Grooming sessions also provide an opportunity to check for any lumps, bumps, or abnormalities in your cat’s skin, allowing for early detection of potential health issues. Furthermore, cleaning your cat’s ears and teeth during grooming helps prevent infections and dental problems, contributing to their overall well-being. Ultimately, regular grooming is an essential part of maintaining your cat’s health and enhancing their quality of life.
